The life I have as a pastor, husband, father, and child of God I owe to Camp Sumatanga where I learned about the joy and heartache that comes with true love. A love that led me to propose to Amy atop Chandler mountain. A love that ushered in three wonderful children and a love that continues to sustain me after the loss of a son. A love that created a relationship with God enhancing the one I already knew as a preacher’s son. A loving relationship that turned out to set in place a calling to ministry different from the one I was proud to witness through my dad. Even though I am living out my life and calling in the Holston Conference, I know where my home is and am eternally grateful for how the Spirit worked in me at my Sumatanga.
