JAKE MORGAN'S CAMP STORY:

Sumatanga first came on my scene in 2005 when I went on a confirmation retreat there. Shortly after that, I was invited by some friends to return for summer camp there. An unsuspecting middle schooler at the time, this random place in the middle of nowhere ended up becoming one of the most meaningful places to me. Sumatanga was where I first experienced the Holy Spirit in a personal, “non-churchy” way. It’s where I had some of my first deep relationships with others. It’s where I spent most of my college summers growing as a person and discovering my desire to lead and teach. Without Sumatanga, I truly don’t know where I would be. And for that reason, I want to continue giving back to the place that has given me so much. The more I become involved in Sumatanga, the more I hear from others how Sumatanga has touched their lives, the more grateful I am for such a wonderful place.
