Here’s the thing about Camp Sumatanga…. It’s home. During the times when I felt like an outcast in my own surroundings, Sumatanga and the relationships that were cultivated through camp have been my home. Sumatanga is a place where I can be myself and be surrounded by people that love me for me. There is never a day that goes by that I don’t think about camp, make a connection with someone that knows camp too or touch base with one of my long term camp friends. There is a bond that the spirit of Sumatanga nurtures. Sumatanga is a lot of things to a lot of people. I’m just one. I see it as home…. a place of rest and vision.
