ANDY WOLFE'S CAMP STORY:

I fell in love with the camp as a 7th grader attending my first elementary camp around 1961!  In those days we swam in the creek (It was cold), slept in unairconditioned cabins (they were hot), and ate wonderful home cooked meals from Mrs. Hutto's pool camp kitchen ( iced tea, friend chicken - there were good). But most of all it was fellowship with others and a closeness to God, that has kept me coming back again and again.  Sumatanga is 'holy ground for me.

Sumatanga has been a vital part of my spiritual journey.  From my first summer camp as a junior high (Swimming in the creek!), to Youth camps and weekends, the Emmaus Walk, church retreats, ministers weeks - Sumatanga has been more than just a place. it has been "holy ground."  It has been Home for so many.

We have the opportunity to ensure that others will continue to share in the Sumatanga experience.   I invite and encourage you to be generous in your gift to Creating Camp Connections.
